April 7, Tuesday — These events actually occurred 40 days after the Resurrection (May 14)
Sometime later Jesus sent the Eleven to a nearby mountain. When Jesus got there, they worshipped Him; but some still struggled with doubts.
“Shalom!” Jesus said. “God’s peace to you! Receive the Holy Spirit.” And He breathed on them and commissioned them, saying,
“All authority in heaven and earth has been given to Me. Just as the Father sent Me, now I am sending you. Go into the whole world proclaiming My Message, making disciples, and baptizing all who believe into the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Teach them to how to live this new life just as I have instructed you. Powerful signs will accompany your message. If you forgive the sins of any, they will be forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they will be retained. Know that I am there with you every step of the way, right to the end of the age.”
There were many other things Jesus did which were not included in this book. To attempt to describe them all would, I suppose, fill all the libraries of the world. These have been recorded to help convince you that Jesus is the true Messiah. And when you believe, you receive life in His Name.
This ends the gospel record of the Story of Jesus. But it’s not over!!! Tomorrow we begin Book Two of the Jesus Trilogy – The Sequel. Don’t miss it!
